Ode to the Papasan Seat

What a great seat you have been for 9 long months! Even though Hannah Grace had the ability to climb out of you a long time ago , she just now has! I am sad to say goodbye to you, but pretty sure we got our money's worth :) Anyone who is is looking for a great seat, this is the best!

9 Months

9 Months has come very quickly!! Hannah Grace is just growing up and doing so many new things everyday! She is now semi-crawling and is into everything!!! Pulling out DVD's, tearing pages out of books and crawling and getting stuck underneath furniture. I feel like I chase her all over the house all day :) I love this stage and love watching her be so curious. She is so playful and loves to roll around all over the place with Clint and me. Clint has started carrying her around the house in the laundry basket and she loves that. She just giggles the whole time as he runs around the house with her. She is eating real food now and prefers it over baby food. She has had peas, carrots, sweet potatoes, cheerios, crackers, banana, cantaloupe, honeydew and watermelon. The only thing she doesn't like is avocado and she gags on this every time I try and give it to her! She has had another allergic reaction and it was to teething biscuits! I think it was the milk in them, but I sure hope not. I guess I will find out sure enough, when I introduce dairy. She finally got her first tooth on the bottom about 3 weeks ago and the second one is starting to come in now. Hannah Grace still loves dogs and the apartment we are in, has a pet park that we visit on a daily basis! I swear Hannah Grace could watch those dogs run around all day long. It is funny, if they don't pay her enough attention and walk away from her, she gets very upset. So, the sweet owners make sure to keep them close, so she is happy. Do you think our little girl likes attention?!? Oh, and the best thing Hannah Grace has done is say Mama!! She was very fussy from her ear infection and reached out for me, while saying Mama. My heart melted and I almost cried. Clint thinks that she said Dada the other night, but I am yet to witness this, so I say that she said MAMA first :) I thought she would make it on the charts this month, but not yet! She is still off the charts for both Weight (22lbs. 14 oz) and Height (28 1/2 in.). No slowing down in growth for this girl! Clint and I just love her so much and love watching her learn all these new things.

Moving and Ear Infections

I haven't blogged in a while and that is because it has been crazy!! Our house finally sold 3 weeks ago, after being on the market for a while! We had to be out in 2 weeks, so it was a little chaotic around our house trying to get everything packed up and trying to find a place to go! We are living in an apartment temporarily, while we build a house that will have more than 1 bathroom!! I was a little sad to leave our first house, but we are excited about the future! We had so many wonderful memories in that house. To add to the madness of moving, Hannah Grace gets an ear infection the day before we moved. Poor thing was pitiful and cried all day, and that is when I knew it was time to go to the Dr.! Thankfully, my Mom was in town, or I think I would have went crazy, trying to pack and take care of a sick child! Well, I think the ear infection is back, so this would make 2 in 3 weeks!! We go to the Dr. tomorrow, so we will see what she has to say. Last time she told me that if Hannah Grace got many more infections, she would have to get tubes. I sure hope she doesn't, but if it would help, I will do anything to get my little girl better.

Kate's Wedding

My lifelong friend Kate, got married 2 weekends ago in Tuscaloosa, to her husband Scott! It was such a wonderful weekend and fun for Clint and I to be back in Tuscaloosa again!! The wedding took place at our old Church (Trinity Presbyterian), so it was great to get to see everyone that we use to attend church with. Kate looked beautiful on her special day and I absolutely loved her dress. She looked stunning. She is such a special friend and I am excited for her to start her new life with such a Godly man. Here are a few pictures from the weekend.

Dancing with Daddy at the reception (she lasted all of about 10 minutes here!). The music was so loud that she was screaming right after this pic.

Thanks to Nana and Cousin Natalie for keeping Hannah Grace most of the weekend :)

8 Months!

Hannah Grace is just growing up before our eyes and I can't believe our baby is only 3 1/2 months from turning 1! It makes me a little sad, but I also love watching her learn new things and grow up into a precious little girl! This past month has brought on a lot more activity! She is starting to move around a lot more!! She rolls everywhere and will not sit still in your lap, but insists on crawling all over you. She is still not crawling yet, but it looks like it might be soon. She is trying very hard, so we will see when she decides to start. Until then, I am still enjoying her not being mobile. She still doesn't have any teeth, but I think the bottom 2 will pop in any day! Hannah Grace still has the most fun loving personality and still loves people. She will go to anyone and loves being the center of attention. Although she is mostly always happy, she has started to throw some fits!! She does this most of the time, when you take something away from her that she shouldn't have. But, as long as you give her something else, she is usually fine. Hopefully, this will be the extent to her fits, but if she is anything like her Mommy, this is just the beginning! Supposedly, I was a pretty bad toddler (with attitude!!), so we will see if Hannah Grace takes this on. We go to the Doctor at 9 months, so I will be interested to see what Hannah Grace weighs and how tall she is. Maybe she will make it on the charts this time!! (haha)

Of all her toys, her hairbrush is by far, one of her favorite things to play with!

LOCKED IN!!

What my child was earlier this morning!! Locked in what you may ask?!! THE CAR!! I locked my poor child in my car at the church this morning! I seriously felt like the worse Mom ever. You may be wondering how this happened. Well, I always go in to get Hannah Grace and put my keys in the diaper bag. Well, for some reason I had hit the lock button and realized that I had forgotten my Bible in the front seat. I went to get it and when I did, that is when the back door shut and I realized what I had done. So, I frantically run into the church crying, trying to get to a phone (since mine was in the car) and try and get Clint, who has my spare. Well, he didn't answer and in the meantime I ran into one of the girls in the B'study and she informed me to call 911. Much to my surprise, they will come and unlock your car when a child is involved. They got there in about 2 minutes, but it took them around 15 minutes to get her out! Supposedly, my car is hard to break into! While, they were still working on getting her out, I did get in touch with Clint. Thankfully, he was right around the corner, heading to his office. I informed him on the phone that they were having some trouble and he steps out of his car with a hammer!! He was ready to knock out the window, if they didn't get her out soon! Those of you who know Clint, can imagine this sight! Well, we finally got her out and she was fine! She was actually fine the whole time and having a great time in the car, while everyone else was panicking. She was playing peek-a-boo with the pastors and laughing and admiring everyone around her. Gotta love her personality :) Oh, and if you do lock your child into your car, what better place to be than at your church. The staff was great and was so encouraging, while thanking me for a bit of excitement in their day!

Zoo

About 2 months ago, Hannah Grace went to the zoo for the first time! I have been meaning to do this post and keep forgetting, so finally I am posting it. We went with my friend Margaret and her son Charlie. It was such a fun day and I think Margaret and I enjoyed the zoo and conversation more than the babies!! Maybe next summer they will be able to enjoy it a little more. Hannah Grace and Charlie play so well together and although Hannah Grace is bigger than her friend, Charlie is actually 2 months older! I don't think I realize how big she is, until we are around other babies!! We just wish they lived here in Birmingham, so we could see them more. Here are a couple of pictures from the zoo and of them playing afterwards at the house. My favorite animal at the zoo was the Gorilla!! It looks so fake!
